Health Canada has determined that the ZGRMBO Decorative tabletop fire box can cause flame jetting from fuel containers, resulting in serious or fatal burns. The ZGRMBO Decorative tabletop fire box is an open decorative container that requires consumers to pour isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol into the reservoir and then ignite the pooled alcohol in the same location it was poured. Flame jetting can occur when refilling fuel in a ZGRMBO Decorative tabletop fire box if any flame or hot surface is present. A flame in a ZGRMBO Decorative tabletop fire box can be hard to see and the vapours inside the fuel container can ignite as it is poured into the fireplace. This can lead to flames violently shooting out of the fuel container or a dangerous explosion that propels flames and burning liquid onto the consumer or bystanders. Isopropyl alcohol burns with flame temperatures over 850oC and can cause third degree burns in less than one second. Igniting pooled alcohol in the open reservoir of the ZGRMBO Decorative tabletop fire box creates an uncontrollable pool fire, which can suddenly produce larger, hotter flames that can spread beyond the product. Health Canada is aware of one flame jetting incident in Canada resulting in burn injuries.

The busy board is not suitable for children under the age of three. Small parts such as the balls or bell may separate posing as a choking hazard to young children.    As of May 12, 2025, the company has received 4 reports of small parts exposure in Canada, and no reports of injuries.

Some Ashland 10-inch and 14-inch casement window hinge tracks may be out of specification which can cause the metal sliding arm to disengage from the hinge track causing the window sash to fall, posing an impact injury hazard to consumers. As of May 13, 2025, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. The company has received two reports of incidents in the United States where the sliding arm became disengaged from the hinge track. Neither incident involved a window sash becoming detached from the window frame and falling to the ground nor injuries.

Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that the recalled jewellery contains lead in excess of allowable limits. Under the Children's Jewellery Regulations of the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, it is illegal to import, advertise or sell jewellery items that appeal primarily to children under 15 years of age and contain more than 90 mg/kg total lead.  Lead and cadmium are highly toxic, especially to children. A range of serious health effects have been associated with exposure to lead and cadmium, including anemia, vomiting, diarrhea, serious brain injury, convulsions, coma, as well as effects related to the liver, kidneys, heart and immune system. In extreme cases, there have been deaths. As of May 15, 2025, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Sampling and evaluation by Health Canada’s Radiation Protection Bureau has determined that this product measures inaccurate radon levels and likely poses a danger to human health or safety. Radon is a radioactive gas that comes from the breakdown of uranium in soil and rock. It is invisible, odourless and tasteless. When radon is released from the ground into the outdoor air, it is diluted and is not a concern. However, in enclosed spaces, like homes, it can accumulate to high levels and become a risk to the health of you and your family.  Long term exposure to radon gas is the second leading cause of lung cancer in Canada, after smoking. The Canadian guideline level for radon in indoor air is 200 Becquerel per cubic meter (Bq/m3).  As of May 1, 2025, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. 

The PlayTab Rollers Tile sold with the PlayTab Modular Activity Board can break in rare circumstances, potentially exposing the magnet and allowing it to detach, posing an ingestion hazard. Small, powerful magnets can be easily swallowed by children of all ages, posing serious and potentially life-threatening risks.   When more than one powerful magnet is swallowed in a short period of time, the magnets can attract one another while moving through the intestines. This can cause the intestines to twist, creating blockages or tearing of the intestinal walls. As of May 7, 2025, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
